James A. Harkins, III
Managing Partner
Jim Harkins is the Managing Partner of Coastal Equity Healthcare ('Coastal"). Jim is also Founder and President of Coastal's capital group affiliate, Coastal Equity Development, Llc ("CED"). Jim founded CED to design, develop, finance and own community-based lifestyle centers in partnership with local physicians and hospitals.
This is a concept that Coastal Equity Healthcare is building upon today to include physician, hospital and local business partnership in vibrant mixed used projects designed for both urban and suburban settings. Jim brings to Coastal twenty years of international finance and ownership structure expertise. Jim has forged partnerships with a number of leading public and private companies.
Prior to founding CED, Jim had a successful career in the information technology industry. He is currently responsible for leading Coastal’s expansion into new markets, building client relationships, raising investment capital and identifying investment opportunities for the firm.

For over 20 years, Chris has worked with several hundred hospitals, many of the nation's health systems and thousands of physicians on medical office, outpatient and acute care projects valued in the billions. His extensive national experience as a specialist in this field has proven to be a valuable resource to healthcare executives and their organizations.
Prior to his work as an advisor to Coastal, Chris envisioned and launched the national real estate development and capital group for Marshall Erdman & Associates, Marshall Erdman Development, LLC. Within 4 years, this national healthcare facility and real estate development start-up was an extremely successful venture. While well on its way to becoming one of the top development groups in the industry, the ownership of the parent company voted to sell Marshall Erdman & Associates and Marshall Erdman Development to Cogdell Spencer - a publicly traded real estate investment trust.
Upon successfully fulfilling his commitment to the Erdman Board and completing a transition period with the new company, Chris resigned from Erdman and was welcomed back as a member of Coastal Equity's Board of Directors - once again reunited with his old partner and good friend, Jim Harkins, to launch another even more vibrant national venture, Coastal Equity Healthcare.
